Happy Father’s Day! Let’s Hear it for the Dads! The PANDADs, that is. (Thanks to Marcel for somewhat coining the term PANDADs. He’s a pretty cool dude and super PANDAD himself!)
Today’s “Your Words” PANDAS Sucks blog is dedicated to the special fellas in our lives that we Moms and other Caregivers share all of the PANDAS/PANS Pandemonium with in our day-to-day lives. It’s the PANDAS/PANS Dads that are the only other person in the world that know everything (EVERYTHING!) that our families are going through when it comes to PANDAS/PANS. I put out a call on Facebook and Instagram for Nice Notes for the Dads. Here are the messages I received:
To J…Thanks for listening to all of my ranting and raving. There’s a lot of it, eh? Ha ha! Thanks for interrupting me sometimes and asking me why I do what I do and for making me really think about my reasons and reminding me why. And of all the billions of people in the world, you are the ONLY other person that knows The PANDAS Story we have lived inside our little four walls since you’ve been here every step of the way with me and Jesse. We Love You! Happy Father’s Day! ~Sarah & Jesse
So thankful for my husband, Michael Jordan, who helps in every way he can with both of our PANDAS kiddos. Always has the patience of a saint when dealing with the horrible effects of this disorder. We’d truly be lost without him here to guide us through this horrible journey. Love, Nickie Jordan
Thank you to the only guy in the world that would work tirelessly for our family and still have the patience to understand what our child is going through. I know more than anything you just want to fix it. Please know who you are is enough. We love you and Happy Father’s Day! ❤️ ~RW
I wanted to send a shout out to my hubby and amazing dad Dennis. Since our daughter was diagnosed with PANDAS in January, she has had huge separation anxiety. She sleeps by his side every night. We drove 9 hours to see the specialist in February, and my husband gets car sick but he sat next to her the entire drive in the back seat, enduring my terrible driving. He is our daughter’s rock and mine. Can’t imagine going through this without him. We love him to the moon and back! ~Christy and Hailey
SONG DEDICATION: To all the PANDADS!!!
To My Amazing Husband- Your persistence, dedication and devotion never cease to amaze me. The kids and I are blessed to have you. Happy Fathers Day! Love- Me?
Dear Daddy, Thank you for always picking me up at the bus, and getting there extra early since I am worried you won’t be there. I know I get scared and ask you over and over again if you will be there. Also, thank you for letting me sleep in your spot in your bed. I promise I will try to go back to my bed soon. I love you! Also, thank you for spending extra time with me when mommy can’t because Josie needs her. Love, Josie and Henry
David, Happy Father’s Day 2017! We have been on this PANDAS journey for almost 4 years. The boys and I are blessed beyond words to have your love and support. There is no one else that could do the PANDAS dance with me the way you do. We are an amazing team. You step in and give me a break when I need it the most and you know when to let me take the reins. Thank you for listening to my endless babbling about the latest research and reading the 100 links. Thank you for demonstrating a miraculous level of patience and understanding when it’s needed the most. Thanks for celebrating the highs and talking through the lows. Thank you for being our person. We love you.
Happy Father’s Day! Thank you for all you do for our family. You’re our hero and our ROCK! We love you!
Happy Father’s Day! It has been one heck of a year, we could not do it with out your love and support. Love you Daddy! ~Aric, Jade, Sophia
Thank you to everybody that sent in special messages. In the spirit of the day, here are a few other PANDAS Sucks Posts from Dads and For Dads:
Happy Father’s Day! a guest blog my own husband, J, wrote in 2015.
And I always have loved this oh so perfect quote from J. G., a PANDAS Dad ,that I ran in the 3rd PANDAS Sucks Because…installment:
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!! You Dads know everything we go through with PANDAS/PANS, and sometimes you give us Moms a break…for that we THANK YOU! And just so you know, it’s really super sexy when you do that! 🙂
The only thing sexier is when you clean the entire house. Well, it’s sexy when you put your own dirty dishes in the dishwasher too. ::swoon:: Ha ha ha!
Thanks again to everyone that participated in this special blog. Thanks to all the PANDADS too. We appreciate you. We know you’re in all of this too and none of us asked for any of it. Hope you have a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Sarah Jane Alleman is a PANDAS Mom to her awesome son, Jesse. She spends much of her time on Facebook, making to-do lists, and listening to music, especially Depeche Mode. She drinks a lot of coffee, likes a good red wine, and has been known to hide chocolate in her pantry. Sarah really thinks PANDAS Sucks (the autoimmune disorder, NOT the bears!). PANDAS Sucks exists to tell the collective story about PANDAS/PANS. Sarah wants to empower other PANDAS Parents and let them know they’re not alone. She is also the Director of Kentucky PANDAS/PANS Support, which strives for more awareness, support, and understanding of PANDAS/PANS. Sarah was a Parent Contributor to the book “PANDAS and PANS in School Settings” and a volunteer and technical adviser for the PANDAS/PANS documentary “My Kid Is Not Crazy.” Find PANDAS Sucks on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
