I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
PANDAS/PANS can be an isolating illness. Many times your child will not want leave the house, which means you don’t get to leave the house. You may find that friends, family, and co-workers do not understand what you are going through. You may be homeschooling or you may end up needing to quit your job to care for your sick child. Please know that you are NOT alone! While every PANDAS/PANS child presents with different symptoms, the devastating impacts on the family are always painful. It’s important for you to find help and support. PANDAS/PANS Parents and Caregivers know where you are coming from and are happy to hold your hand in person or virtually. Find help. You’ll need it. There’s an incredible relief that you get when you talk to somebody that gets it.
If you live in Kentucky, the Kentucky PANDAS/PANS Support/KPPS organization is happy to help. (I’m also the Director of KPPS.)
